Storyline
A genetically enhanced special forces unit codenamed FOXHOUND has lead an armed uprising on a remote island in Alaska. This island, codenamed Shadow Moses, is the site of a nuclear weapons disposal facility. The terrorists are threatening the U.S government with a nuclear reprisal if they do not receive the remains of a legendary mercenary(upon which their genetic enhancements are based) within 24 hours. Former FOXHOUND soldier Solid Snake is forced out of retirement and is dispatched at the request of an old comrade in arms, Colonel Roy Campbell, to penetrate the terrorists' defenses and neutralize the threat. It quickly transpires that there is more to these terrorists and his mission than he every thought possible.
